(un)Tradeable is a participatory artwork in the form of a conceptual think-tank, conceived by Eneri and João Correia, curated by Dara McQuillan and headquartered at the World Trade Centre in Manhattan. The project transforms the 2500m² space of the 70th floor of the building into a dynamic site for research and co-creation of strategies for equitable worldmaking. It challenges the relentless commodification of life while asserting that empathy, ethics and social responsibility must remain beyond negotiation.

Intertwining conceptual depth with aesthetic form, the project treats the space as a sculptural environment, framed by the floor’s 360-degree panoramic view over Manhattan. This extraordinary vantage point contextualizes the themes of the exhibition within the physical and symbolic heart of global commerce.

Making ideas visible, tangible, and transformative, the project is structured around seven key components:

1. Landscape of ideas, bold protest style sentences, inviting visitors to engage with

the skyline as part of a landscape of ideas;

2. From Written Words to Spoken Words is an activation program woven into the installation, inviting visitors to engage in an evolving, participatory process — experiencing a fresh aesthetic perspective on pixo that moves from written words to spoken words and from spoken words to performing change. We are proud to develop this with the support of Yves Mathieu and Mission Publiques;

3. Ancestral Monuments, a visual representation of human population growth across

four historical phases, using stacks of blank paper, unwritten, where each sheet

symbolizes 500,000 lives;

4. AI Conversations Archives divided into four thematic zones addressing global

issues such as environmental justice, systemic inequality, borders and migration;

5. Diary of a Pixadora pages turned into paintings from Eneri’s diaries, bridging the

personal and universal by grounding the installation’s conceptual framework in lived

experience.

6. Catalysts Map position visitors within a map that connects the artwork to a selection of the world’s key institutions and organizations aligned with the themes of (un)Tradeable.

7. un(Tradeable) Podcast makes ideas audible — a podcast recorded within the installation, featuring guests from the activation program. It transforms spoken words into lasting dialogue, amplifying the themes of From Written Words to Spoken Words through reflective, human-centered conversation.

This arrangement encourages dual engagement: an upward gaze toward monumental structures of thought and a downward acknowledgment of the ideas beneath our feet. The surrounding 360-degree view reinforces the interconnectedness of the issues explored, situating the work within a living urban and global network. This interplay challenges visitors to reflect on how values are not only aspirational but also embedded in the foundations of our daily lives.

Through this dialogue of form and meaning, (un)Tradeable offers a powerful call to action: to question, reimagine, and actively participate in shaping a world where some things must remain untradeable.
